However, all participants must follow certain rules, including a prohibition on using or possessing alcoholic beverages, cigarettes, chewing tobacco, or illegal drugs. In addition, participants must not leave their groups. Failure to follow these rules will result in expulsion from the program, and the fees paid for that program will be forfeited. AccommodationsPlan A (Live-in) participants stay in a residence hall on Michigan Tech's campus, just a short walk from the Student Development Complex (SDC), where the Summer Athletic Programs are held. Students living in the residence hall will room with members of their own age group and may request roommates. Rooms in the residence hall are furnished with bunk beds, dressers, and desks. Dorm rooms are not air-conditioned, so students are encouraged to bring a fan. Linens, pillows, and blankets are provided. Students must bring two to three towels. Restrooms and showers are conveniently located on each floor. The residence hall has lounges, cable TV, and a recreation room. Laundry facilities are available. Students must bring their own laundry supplies. Whether in or out of the residence hall, participants receive round-the-clock supervision by Michigan Tech Summer Athletic Programs personnel. MealsThe residence hall cafeteria provides Plan A (Live-in) participants breakfast, lunch and dinner each day. Plan B (Commuter) participants are provided lunch and dinner depending on the duration of camp. Meal tickets are available for purchase at the McNair Hall front desk for any parents and/or family members who wish to eat with their camp participants. To take a student to eat off-campus, parents or guardians must notify a counselor or camp coordinator and sign a release form. Please return the student at designated times. What to Bring

Medical ServicesThe Summer Athletic Programs have certified athletic trainers on staff to provide emergency medical care. Located within the SDC, the Portage Medical Group Clinic (906-483-1860) offers medical services to participants, as well as the public. Note: Basketball coaches and teams are responsible for first-aid supplies such as gauze, tape for ankles, etc. Check-In and Check-OutAll participants check in at the information desk located inside the main entrance of the Student Development Complex (SDC). Plan A (live-in) participants will then be directed to their designated residence hall. Late arrivals should report first to McNair Hall and check in at the front desk, then go to the SDC Ticket Office to get schedule information, remit outstanding payments, or provide any medical information not yet submitted. If you arrive after the hall closes for the evening, please contact Public Safety at (906)487-2216. Following the conclusion of camp, Plan A (live-in) participants will return to the residence hall for check-out. Linens and keys will be turned in at this time. There is a $50 fee for lost keys. Plan B (commuter) participants may be picked up at the SDC. LocationMichigan Technological University is located in Houghton, in the heart of the Keweenaw Peninsula in Upper Michigan.
