Girls Basketball Camp

2010 Camps

Information regarding 2010 camps will be posted as soon as it is available.

Michigan Tech offers four girls basketball camps:

  • Little Huskies Camp
  • Development Camp
  • College Prep Camp
  • Team Camp



Little Huskies Camp

Dates TBA

Learn fundamental skills for team play from experienced coaches and instructors in a supportive and encouraging environment.

  • Entering grades 2-5 (as of fall 2010)
  • Daily sessions 9:00 AM - 12:00 Noon
  • Cost: This is a commuter camp (no live-in): TBA


Development Camp

Dates TBA

Instruction stresses fundamentals, including both post and perimeter skills, and team play.

  • Entering grades 6-8 (as of fall 2010)
  • Costs: Plan A (live-in) - TBA, Plan B (commuter) - TBA




College Prep Camp

Dates TBA

Improve skills in post and perimeter play that is geared around the motion offense. Learn individual skills by position.

  • Entering grades 9-12 (as of fall 2010)
  • Costs: Plan A (live-in) - TBA; Plan B (commuter) - TBA


Girls' Team Camp

Special requests need to be in one week prior to the start of camp.

  • Entering grades 9-12 (as of fall 2010)
  • Costs: Plan A (live-in) - TBA, Plan B (commuter) - TBA


To secure a spot in Team Camps, teams must turn in all applications together no later than one week prior to start of camp.

  • Eight-player minimum.
  • All games officiated
  • Outstanding competition
  • Junior varsity teams welcome (separate divisional play from varsity)
  • All participants must complete and return a signed Health History Form prior to the start of camp. Participants without a signed form will not be allowed to participate.
  • Participants who drive to camp are required to turn in their car keys to their coach.
  • Coaches meeting on first day of camp at 1:30 pm in SDC Room 237.
  • One coach per team. Head coaches receive free room/board. $80 for each additional coach.
  • Commuters (Plan B) receive lunch Monday and Tuesday. Dinner may be purchased at the cafeteria.

Head Coach, Michigan Tech Women's Basketball

Entering his seventh season as head coach of Michigan Tech's Women's Basketball, Barnes has led all five of his teams to a winning record and postseason berth, advancing to the NCAA Tournament four times. Named 2005-2006 GLIAC Coach of the Year, he sports a 98-45 career record.
